This weekend sees the beginning of the annual Eastbourne Artist’s Spring Open Houses and Studios event here in my hometown of Eastbourne. I have had the great pleasure of taking part in this in one way or another for the past seven years, and always have such a wonderful time meeting new people. Visitors come from all over the county, and sometimes further afield. I get lots of questions about my inspirations and process, which I love sharing with those that are interested.
Many visitors have become regulars, coming just to see whats new. Some come to commission something special for their home or as a gift, while yet others have become regular collectors. All are equally welcome.
Many towns and cities up and down the country now have similar open studio events. If you see one advertised near you then why not go along? as artists love what we do and enjoy sharing it. Even better, for the price of a couple of meals out, (which are here today – gone tomorrow), why not purchase something totally unique? A beautiful piece of original artwork can bring you joy in your home every day for many years. So much nicer than a generic mass produced decor from the high street.
I’ll leave you with that thought as I get back to my final preparations before opening on Saturday. I will post updates throughout on my Instagram feed, so do follow along.
