More experiments putting colours together I wouldn’t normally think of! Needs more tonal variation but I’m liking the colours 😊

I’m away visiting my daughter for a few days, so it’s back to dabbling in my journals using a limited range of supplies. Of course O always decide I need one thing that I haven’t brought with me 🙄🤷🏼‍♀️
Still, the challenge of limitation is a good creative exercise, so it’s all good 👍🏼😊

Alongside my oil and wax experimentation, I also started a new acrylic/mixed media series yesterday, ready for further attention today. Exploring some different approaches and techniques with these, keen to see how they turn out. Trying a whole load of new things has finally pushed me out of the new year funk, and thankfully I finally feel like I’m back on a roll 👏🏼🎉

Being somewhat impatient, I love working with acry

Being somewhat impatient, I love working with acrylics as they dry so fast - but I also like trying new things. In between work on my current big canvas I’ve been playing with some oil and cold wax on canvas board. I can see why oil paint fans talk about the richness in the colour compared to acrylics. However, I’m not a fan of having to leave them so long between layers 😴
Still, this is a selection of base layers and progress so far 👉🏼
